This Week:
*Make your visiting teaching visits and report on how your sisters are doing to your supervisor or to Kathy Christensen (801-599-9766 / christensen.kathy@ymail.com).
*The bishopric has asked us to start reading The Book of Mormon together
as a ward over the next year. That equates to about 1.5 pages per day. So by next Sunday (June 15), we should
be in 1 Nephi chapter 5. (Check out ldsscripturetools.com to make a reading schedule.)
*If you are planning to go to the Richards' cabin in Hobble Creek this weekend for our cooking class/camping sleepover, please RSVP to Lynda ASAP (801-604-6626) and pay her $5/person by this Wednesday (includes dinner Friday and all three meals Saturday). We will be meeting on Friday at the church at 6pm to caravan together to the cabin.
*Lunch Bunch is still on for Saturday at noon at the Landmark Grill.
*The Primary Talent Show is Saturday, June 14 at 1pm at the church. Come support the little cuties and their adorable talents.
*The Jordan River temple is closed for maintenance from June 9 through June 23, so plan to attend another temple if you would like to go in the next couple weeks.
*Next Sunday, June 15 is Father's Day.
*The elders serving in our ward are in need of new housing. If you know of someone with available space (they need their own entrance and living areas, such as a basement apartment, and cannot live with a single sister or someone with young daughters), please contact Martin Evans at 801-616-1387.
Looking Ahead:
*Thursday, June 19 is Stake Lagoon Day. Look for pamphlets with discount tickets on the tables by the clerk and bishop's offices.
*Stake Conference will be June 21 and 22. There will be an adult session on Saturday at 6pm for those 12 years old and older, and the general session will be Sunday at 10am at the stake center (7155 South 540 East). There will also be a stake temple night associated with the conference. PLEASE know that this stake conference has been in the works with stake leaders, area authorities, and all the bishoprics in the stake for the last three months and will set up the goals and work for the stake for the next several years. Don't miss it!!
*The Young Women are doing a Car Wash fundraiser for Girls' Camp at the church on Saturday, June 28.
*July 5 will be our next ward temple night. (They will be once a month on the Saturday evening prior to Fast Sunday.) Meet at the Jordan River Temple at 7:00pm and attend the 7:30pm endowment session or perform another ordinance.
