Updates on Movie Night and Zumba

Here is more info for the upcoming movie night and also the Zumba class. Hope to see you there!

Movie Night - We're going to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green at the Sandy Cinemark 9 Dollar Theatre on 9539 S. 700 E. It plays at 5:10pm and 7:40pm. We are having two nights you can choose from - Monday Night (Nov 12) for those without families to hold Family Home Evening, and Wednesday Night (Nov 14). The cost for Wednesday is $1.25. The cost on Monday is $1.25 for Seniors and $1.75 for anyone else. Make sure to email Kathy Christensen @ kathychristensen@rocketmail.com and let her know which day, which showing, and make sure to give her your cell phone # and email address. She will email you to let you know who else is going in your group and other details you'll want to have.

We have had a request for Zumba to be held at the ward building. Until we have enough sisters who are interested and committed to coming each time, we've been invited to join a new group starting up this Wednesday, November 14 @ 5:30pm. It will be held at 6965 Union Park Center #160. That's the big glass & granite building on the corner of Fort Union and 1300 East. The first class is free. The teacher will determine price, etc. once she see's if there is enough interest to hold classes every Wednesday at that location. Wear loose fitting clothes and shoes with not much tread. It will be on the main floor and there will be signs directing you. Email Jan Norton (mama.jan@msn.com) if you think you might be coming.

Upcoming Events

Here are some upcoming events that we can all look forward to. Make sure to mark them on your calendars and come for some fun.

Movie Night has been postponed till this coming Monday - November 12. It had originally been planned for Monday, November 5th, but the movies we had to select from were pretty meager. We are accepting suggestions for this Monday. Call or email Kathy Christensen at 801-566-8924 or kathychristensen@rocketmail.com. Make sure to email her your email address if you want to be contacted with the movie choice, meeting place and time. Watch the blog for Kathy's suggestion for the movie. We'll pick one from the dollar movie's if we can.

ZUMBA will start on Wednesday, November 14 at 5:30. The cost for your first time is FREE. The address is at 6965 Union Park Center #160. This is in the big office building on the corner of 7200 S. and 1300 East. Just come in on the main floor and there will be signs directing you. Wear loose clothes you can move in and shoes with very little tread on the bottom because we might be on carpet - we might be on the granite floor. Nicka Hiramoto, an amazing Zumba instructor, has invited our ward to join with the ladies that work in the building.

Cami Evans has graciously agreed to moderate our book club. The first book we're reading is The Winter Sea by Susannah Kearsley. Both Cami and Jan Norton have epub and mobi ebook copies to email you if you have Nooks, Ipads or Kindles to read on. The book is Jan's suggestion - one of her favorite books of all times. Because of the holiday season, Cami suggests that we give everyone until the first of the new year to read it. Contact Cami at 801-960-5815 or camialane@gmail.com. Make sure to email Cami if you are interested in being included in the group so she has your email.

We are hoping to find someone to take charge of a cooking class. We've had requests to meet at the church kitchen once a month and learn a new family friendly recipe that we can construct there and take home to cook for our families.

We have had requests for a "cheap chicks" dinner group, &/or a pot luck dinner group. We have had requests for a play group for pre-school kiddos. We have had requests for a Wednesday night game night (Bunco, Uno - whatever). We have had a request for a Sunday Night dessert night. So - if any of you are interested in helping us get any of those groups up and going, please let a member of the RS Presidency know.
